Good trip to London

I booked Eurostar tickets through them for a quick trip to London. The app was easy to use. Tickets arrived fast. No issues at all.

Saved money on GWR

I was looking for cheap train tickets for a GWR journey and found Trainpal. The split ticketing feature saved me about £7 which was great. It wasn't a huge amount, but every little helps. I also managed to combine it with my railcard discount. The whole process was pretty clear, although entering the promo code felt a bit hidden at first. Overall, it was worth it for the savings.

Reliable for UK travel

I've used Trainpal several times now for UK rail tickets, usually LNER or Avanti West Coast. This time it was a London to Manchester trip. The split ticketing always saves a few quid, and the digital tickets are super convenient. My past experiences were good too; it's consistently reliable. I keep coming back because it just works, and the prices are usually better than other sites I've checked.

So easy to use!

Oh my goodness, I just booked my first-class upgrade for a CrossCountry trip, and it was so simple! I got a really good deal too, felt like a steal. The app is fantastic, everything was straightforward, and I had my tickets instantly. Seriously impressed with how smooth the whole process was. I will absolutely be using them again for all my future train travel! You should too!

how does the whole 'group save' discount work on trainpal? trying to get tickets for me and 3 friends.

T Troy Vargas 1 month ago
When you select the number of passengers, it should automatically apply any 'GroupSave' discounts if they're available for your route and time. You don't usually have to do anything extra, it just shows up in the price breakdown.

It's usually for 3-9 people traveling together off-peak. Just put in your numbers and it'll tell you if it's an option. I've found it gets applied automatically in the app if the conditions are met.

what if my train gets cancelled? do i get a full refund or can i just get on the next one with the same ticket?

T Troy 2 months ago
If your train is cancelled, you're usually entitled to a full refund or to travel on the next available service, sometimes even with other operators. TrainPal should guide you through it in the app or via their customer service.

Yeah, usually you can get on the next one without issues, just talk to the staff at the station. For a refund, you'd process it through TrainPal. I had a delay once and they sorted out compensation pretty smoothly.

anyone used their app for european trains? thinking of doing a trip to germany, wondering if it's reliable for deutsche bahn tickets.

S Shane Y. 2 months ago
Yep, used it for Italy (Trenitalia) and France (SNCF) before. Worked fine. Just make sure to double check the ticket details cause sometimes the European tickets can be a bit different with seat reservations and stuff.

My friend booked some DB tickets through them for a trip to Berlin and had no issues. You get the e-ticket in the app just like UK ones.

hey, trying to book a train from London to Edinburgh next month. is trainpal actually legit for these? i keep seeing ads and it sounds almost too good to be true with the split ticketing stuff.

D Derek 2 months ago
Yeah, it's legit. I've used it a few times for UK travel, even some longer routes. The split ticketing thing really works, saved me a decent chunk on a trip to Manchester last year.

totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it's an official retailer. they just do the split tickets automatically which is why it can be cheaper. used it for a eurostar ticket too.

i'm trying to book for easter weekend, is it too late to find advance tickets? also, do they have any flash sales around holidays?

S Steve T. 2 months ago
Easter is a peak time, so advance tickets might be scarce or pricey now, but you never know. Always worth checking. They do tend to have seasonal sales, so keep an eye on the app or website in the run-up to holidays.

You might still snag something, but it'll be picked over. Holiday weekends are always crazy for train travel. As for sales, sometimes they do a 'holiday special' but it's usually advertised a bit closer to the date.
